The mission of the Denali Film Festival is to bring artists into nature and support the cultural and economic vitality of the Denali Borough by bringing world class film to Denali that advocates environmental responsibility at the heart of adventure.
Darrell fell in love with Alaska in 2012. He is so glad to be able to combine his passions of film and Alaska by founding the Denali Film Festival. He co-founded Highway Walkers Media in 2011 and earned an MFA from the University of South Carolina. His films have been purchased by Oscar and Emmy nominated websites, Public Television, and streaming outlets. He has teaching credits at UCLA, CalArts, University of Minnesota/Guthrie, and more.
Kimberly has a deep love for Alaska through her multiple summers working in various capacities, touring with HAL to promote Alaskan tourism, and founding the Denali Film Festival. Kimberly is an artist and editor for playwrights and filmmakers. She holds an MFA and is a professional actor with credits at Folger Shakespeare, Barter Theatre, and teaching credits at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Guthrie/Univeristy of Minnesota, UCLA, and CalArts.
